To share data with another feed via feed2feed, the sender must set up an export configuration, and the receiver an import configuration.

Set up a client

The first step is to set up a client with access to retrieve data. This is done via "Settings" → "Clients."

Here, a client with the role "feedtofeed.consumer" should be created. Keep the ID and key safe so they can be shared with those who will receive the data.

Set up a configuration

Once the client has been created, a configuration can be set up. Navigate to "Integrations" → "feed2feed."

Then click on the "+" button or use the shortcut key "c" to create a configuration.

Client

For the recipient to retrieve data from the sender feed®, a client must be linked to grant the recipient access to products.

This is where you now assign the client that was created in the previous step.

Product selection

Once a client has been linked, product selection can be set up. This is defined using searches.

Click the "+" icon to create a search that will be linked to the configuration. You can define as many searches as you like.

All products that match at least one of the searches will then be available to the recipient feed®.

Field selection

Now that the configuration has defined which products will be available, it is also necessary to decide which fields should be available.

The fields are divided into different categories: Product, attributes, texts, relations, media roles, packaging, and ETIM.

Everything that is selected will be accessible to the recipient. It is then up to the recipient to decide whether they want to import the data on their side.

In the image above, for example, only 7 attributes are shared with the recipient.

Relations

When it comes to relations, this will not automatically grant access to all related products of a given type.

If the sender shares product A, which has a relation to product B, but product B is not part of the product selection defined in the configuration, that relation will not be exposed.

Media

Media sharing is based on media roles.

For example:

The sender shares media role X.

Product A has a document linked to it with media roles X and Y.

On product A, the media will then be made available with media role X assigned.

If the sender also shares media role Y, the media will be made available with both roles assigned.
