If you want to find which variants belong to which bases, you can easily perform a search that displays the base's product number on the variants.

  1. Activate the search and select "All" to include inactive products (if needed).

  2. Select "Variant" under type.

  3. Click on the magnifying glass to display the search results.

The search result does not display the "Base product number" as default in the list shown. Click on the contextual menu and edit columns.

Make sure that Type is set to "Product," and select Base Product Number.

Update if you want a report without saving, or update and save the search if you want to keep the report permanently.

Tip: Adjust the columns as you prefer by dragging and dropping to rearrange the order. You can also add more columns or remove some by clicking on the X to the right of the columns.

Export the list to Excel by clicking on the contextual menu, generating the Excel file, and downloading it.

Line 2 in the export can be removed before proceeding with the Excel document.

From here, you can generate a table with sorting or convert it into a Pivot Table for easier visual overview.

Linking variants to bases via Excel import

If you want to link multiple variants to a base, only two columns are necessary: one for the variant's product number and one for the base product number.

  1. Click on the Integrations menu.

  2. Select Excel Product Import.

  3. Click on Upload and choose the document.

  4. Map the variant product numbers to Product Number.

  5. Map the base product number to Base → Base Product Number.

  6. If the file only has two columns, select Update. If there are several new products to be created and linked to a base, all the necessary columns required to create a variant must also be included (at minimum, the name and product template must also be included).
