Structures in feed®
Structures in feed® are a great way to organize and structure products that are, going to be exported to other channels. For example, to online stores, industry databases, or catalogs.
Here, one can easily build folder structures in as many levels as desired, and add products, either by searching for them and directly and adding them to a selected folder, or by defining a search so that the folder dynamically contains the products that currently meet the specified search criteria.
There is no limit to where products can be added, as long as one is not at the top node. One can add products to multiple folders and also multiple times under the same folder.
feed supports three different catalog types:
Type | Short description | note |
---|---|---|
Standard | Included with feed. Use feed API for export. | |
WooCommerce | Uses the Woo module that enables you to synchronize product data and product pictures between products in a feed WooCommerce structure and WooCommerce |
|
Catalog | Structure used by the Catalog module. When catalog templates are available (needs to be defined and developed) the templates can be selected on structure nodes to generate pdf catalogs based on the design(s) that is set on node levels. PDF inserts can be added in the catalog, and structure attributes can be programmed to determine a certain set of rules or design tweaks. |

To create a structure in feed:
- Click on Structure in the feed menu
- Click on the lower right icon or press "c" on the keyboard.
- Fill inn structure name on all the languages you have activated in feed. remember to add a unique import code so the feed API can fetch the structure, and select a type of structure (only Standard is available unless you have activated the other modules)
When entering Structure in feed you will see a list of the structures you have created.
- From here you can search and filter the list if needed.
- You can copy a structure by clicking on this icon (if you need to create a similar structure for another purpose). A copy of the structure will have the same name as the selected structure, but with "(Copy)" in front of the name. The structure import code at the top node will not be copied, but import codes at all other nodes/folders will be copied within the structure.
- If you have the catalog module and have generated some PDF's of that catalog you will see this icon . Clicking on that will take you to the list of generated catalogs for download.
At the top level of the structure the options are different from the sub levels.
- Click on this icon to edit the name of the structure (add names on all languages in order for it to be visible for feed users using other languages, and to export the name using feed API. to change the sort order of this level. Click on this icon
- Select attributes for structure let you select the structure attributes you have created. Only selected structure attributes are available to use in the structure. For mor information about structure attributes, read here!
- At top level you cannot add searches or products to the structure. You have to enter a folder to activate these options. Delete products is only active on a folder containing products. It will only delete the products in that folder, not subfolders.
- the icon at the bottom right corner creates a new folder, and nothing else. When you enter a folder the icon changes and gives you more options. Obviously you can also create a folder by clicking on the button with that name.
- Search for folder
Here you can search for folders based on name in the active structure - Add search / Edit search
This is active if you are on a folder in the structure that is not the top node. Opens a search dialog where you define a product search and save it. This defines that products that currently match the specified search belong to this folder.
By clicking on the icon for the context menu after adding a search, you can perform the search and see the search results, edit the search, or delete the search.
NOTE! Products included via product search will not be displayed as associated with the structure in the GUI or via the feed product API.
That means that the products that matches the search criteria will not have a tab in feed under the product stating it is attached to a structure. The only option to see product matches in the structure with search is to edit , nor can you list them in feed GUI by structure filter. Via the API you can list products under a structure that has searches, but they are not identified as connected to the structure otherwise in the feed API
There are 3 ways to edit your search. A: Click on edit search. B: Click on the search line. C: click on the three dots and choose "Edit search".
You can also view the search result or delete the serch from here. - Add product
This opens a search dialog, similar to "add search" where you search and select which products to add directly under the chosen folder. This way you have 100% control over which products are included in the structure.
By clicking on the icon for the context menu on the product, you can navigate to the product or delete it from the structure.
Clicking on a folder in the structure will give you the following menu options:
- This is the level of the folder you are at. Here you can sort the subfolders, move the folder to another location in the structure, Copy the folder, Edit the name and import code of the folder, or delete it.
- This is the sublevel folder menu. Here you can do the same as above, except sort folders.

Get media from media bank: This works in the same way except that you select the media from the feed media bank.
