Nor does it give you a list of what products are attached to the media or the formats that
It gives you an Excel extract of basic data in the media library.
- By clicking on the top download icon you activate Excel generation of Media export
- By clicking on the download icon on one of the rows you download the generated Media Excel file.
What is the export useful for:
You can use it for a quicker overview on statistics. Number of media types, file sizes (originals), or detecting duplicate names,
For use in import purposes you can use some of the column information in the export on the import template.
If you have integrations that only have access to API media role "public.media.read/write" and nothing else, the External Access checkmark on a media must be checked. If you use the feed media ID (on existing media) and use TRUE in the External Access column on Media import you can add access to media.
The Media export file can be used to list media that is not in use (FALSE).
Then those media can be included in a "Media" import with their feed media "id" (Media id on import). With the Action Type DELETE you can quickly remove unused media in feed.
PS: This will only be a legal action to media that is not connected to any products in feed.
